In order to qualify for a Roger Bardwell Scholarship, you must:
1. Be at least 18 years old
2. Be working toward your first college degree
3. Be a high school graduate or its equivalent
4. Have completed at least one term of college with a GPA of 2.5 or higher
5. Reside in Chicago
6. Qualify for in district tuition at City Colleges or be willing to accept assistance at an in district level
7. Be willing to assess goals each semester
8. Show need and ability to benefit from additional financial support
9. Work cooperatively in a mentoring situation
10. Maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 for graduation
Range of support we offer on an individual need basis:
1. Tuition at the City Colleges of Chicago
2. Tuition assistance at a four-year institution after graduating from Harold Washington College
3. Textbook assistance
4. Mentoring, on-going goal assessment, and thorough transfer-process support
5. Transportation assistance
6. Referral to the personal and professional development services offered through Harold Washington College
